Analysis & Info

Dark plums and ripe berries offer rich fruitiness on the nose. It ends off with layers of black pepper, cigar box and hints of clove spiciness resulting from ageing a portion in barrel. There is a dark fruit follow-through to the palate with a good tannin structure to supply a juicy flavour. The wine is accessible and drinkable now, but with sufficient grip to ensure ageing potential. A Perfect every day red wine.

Ageing	Drink now, or can be kept until 2027 and beyond.
Cellar	De-stemmed and fermented on the skins for ca 14 days. After pressing, the wine went through malolactic fermentation in steel tanks after which 30% was aged for 10 months in 2nd and 3rd fill French oak barrels.
Harvest	Harvested at full ripeness (24° Balling).
Vineyard	Our Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot vines are planted in deep, well drained Hutton and Clovelly soils on the west-facing slopes of the Helderberg. The vineyards are trellised and receive supplementary irrigation via drip lines, when necessary.
